Business Tips: Saying "Thank You" in Creative Ways, You Can Help Your Business Succeed By William DuBose Takeaways * Send notes * Be sincere * It could improve your productivity One of the most underrated things in business is learning how to say thank you. For any business in general or the folks who run the day to day operations of a given business, learning to say thank you in a correct and creative way could be the difference in retaining a client and losing one to a different company. Saying thank you is about much more than the words. There are creative ways in which you can show your gratitude and make a good impression on past clients and future clientele. Saying thank you can also help improve your business on the inside. By making your workers feel appreciated, you can improve their productivity to a point where your business succeeds. When saying thank you, make sure to make the person aware of what you are thanking them for. Instead of simply uttering the cliché, say, "Thank you for helping me with that project, Ted." By doing this, you add a personal touch and show that you care about the deed that they performed. Another thing to do is to send random thank you notes to people during an average day. Either by email or through a hand written note, let your staff know that you appreciate the things that they do every day. Do not do this all the time, simply make sure to do it enough that they understand your sentiments. If you work in a business where there are certain goals and expectations to be met, congratulate and thank people when they exceed expectations. Do this by not only verbally thanking them, but by presenting a small certificate that commemorates their work. This can be a major morale boost and can be incentive to work hard the next time there is a goal to be met. If you think you are a sly devil, then try giving someone a compliment indirectly. Wait until they are around, but they are not speaking directly with you. Say to someone else, "That Sally sure is doing a great job this month," in a voice where she is sure to overhear. This can make people understand that your appreciation for them is real. By learning to thank people in creative ways, you could vastly improve the way your workplace interacts with one another and with you. It is a much underrated skill that only the best managers possess. Thank your people today and they are sure to work harder tomorrow. 2010 © Associated Content, All rights reserved.
